About the project

The renovation proposal for Hațeg Country Museum on Florilor Street retains the building’s distinctive roof, turrets and trefoil windows while improving conditions for museum use.

Repairs address moisture and deterioration alongside improvements to the building envelope. Compatible materials and an accessible entrance support the continued use of the existing building.

Design approach

The proposal repairs the ceramic roof, timber structure and turrets, restores decorative elements and replaces incompatible windows with timber frames.

Moisture and energy

Compatible breathable finishes, drainage and perimeter ventilation address rising damp. Attic insulation, improved glazing and proposed solar panels support energy performance.

Accessible entrance

The proposed entrance ramp improves access, while perimeter paving and rainwater collection protect the building.
