A house begins with its setting and the people who will use it. At Zorlescu Architecture, design connects daily life, light, structure and the way a building is made. We work on projects in Bucharest, Ilfov and across Romania.
The site and brief come first.
The house’s position, neighbours, access, orientation and garden influence the organisation of space. We discuss these conditions alongside your priorities: where you work, how you welcome guests, the privacy you need and how your home might change over time.
The design brief brings those priorities together. Plan options and spatial studies allow them to be compared before a proposal is developed in detail. A bespoke design grows from these decisions, rather than a superficial adaptation of a reference image.
From concept to information for construction.
The project develops through stages, with a scope and deliverables defined for each appointment. The practice’s services include concept design, construction authorisation documentation, technical design and execution details. Architecture is coordinated with the structural and building services designers.

Comfort belongs in the design.
Orientation, openings, shading and the building envelope affect light and comfort. We consider them from the outset, alongside the house’s performance objectives. Alexandru Zorlescu is a certified Passive House designer; his qualification does not automatically certify a building.
